Property Description
Perched at the foothills of world-renowned Sliabh Liag a "honeypot" location that is fast becoming Donegal's number one tourist attraction along the world-renowned Wild Atlantic Way. A great opportunity now exists for a new owner operator to acquire this iconic and once well-established business positioned in a prime scenic setting with the benefit of a high volume of passing trade. The premises currently operates as a tearoom and shop but holds enormous potential to develop an evening and nighttime offering to day trippers to and from Sliabh Liag and the Silver Strand Beach.
Glencolmcille Village & Cashel Beach:
Whilst the location enjoys all the attributes of country living, the property is situated on the outskirts of Glencolmcille which is a community orientated village steeped in history and famed for being the parish of Father James McDyer. This area of Donegal is renowned for its stunning scenery with sandy beaches and rugged coastal features. The majestic Slieve League is approximately 15 kms away and is a highly popular tourist destination attracting a large volume of visitors from all over the world.
Folk Village:
The Glencolmcille Folk Village is on the Atlantic coast west of Donegal Town in the north west of Ireland. It consists of several small cottages in the Gaeltacht (Irish-speaking area). It was built and maintained by the local people and it is one of Ireland's best living-history museums. The cottages are exact replicas of those used by local people in the 18th, 19th and 20th centuries and fitted with the furniture of this period.
Location:
Malinbeg is a secluded bay visible from the Silver Strand beach Discovery Point and dramatized by the surrounding high, horse-shoe-shaped cliffs. The Bay is accessed by a steeply sloping series of steps. The headland on the Western side of the Bay presents the remains of fortifications beyond which, Rathlin O'Bernie Island is just visible. The headland to the south east rises, parallel with the coastline to the top of Sliabh Liag Mountain (6km) creating exceptional views from the Discovery Point.
