What is RSS?

RSS or Really Simple Syndication is a reliable way to keep up to date with the latest properties on Property.ie. It allows you to identify the listings that interest you and have it instantly delivered directly to you.

RSS scans the content of Property.ie for updates and then sends a list of those updates to you, including a headline, description and a link to read more.

How do I start using RSS feeds?

In order to receive RSS feeds you must have a feed reader, also known as an aggregator, which processes the information for display. There are a number of feed readers available online, a list of which can be found below. RSS feeds can also be read on PDAs and some mobile phones. Once you have chosen a feed reader, all you have to do is to decide what content you would like to receive and add the relevant RSS feeds.

There are two ways to add a website to your feed reader. Property.ie uses the standard orange RSS icon which you can click on to instantly add that feed to your reader. Alternatively you may need to copy and paste the URL of the feed into the program (click on the RSS icon first, and then copy the URL).

If you decide that you don't want to receive updates anymore, you simply delete the feed or URL from your feed reader.

Some web browsers, such as Firefox, Internet Explorer, Safari, and Opera have functionality which automatically picks up RSS feeds for you. For more details on these please check your browser's website.

How do I get a RSS Reader?

Different feed readers work on different operating systems, such as Windows or Mac OS X, so you will need to take this into account when you make your choice. Alternatively web-based feed readers offer a simple way to get up and running with RSS and can be accessed from any computer.
