A little history.

Built in and around 1830 by The Tottenham family, who were the local landlords and lived in the nearby Glenfarne Hall. The village was built by Charles Henry Tottenham in 1831 and named 'Sarahville' to commemorate the death of his daughter Sarah who was killed in a horse riding accident in 1828. He first built the Market House and then built corresponding corner buildings which was when the corner house was established.
The Corner house has gone through many changes . The current family have owned the property for many decades and created a vibrant business there, including a bar and Guinness bottling plant, which gave great employment to the local community and was a hive of activity down through the years. They managed to maintain it to a high standard which is evident in its presentation today.
