History

The lands at Camolin were acquired by the Church of Ireland about 1830 and The Rectory was built shortly after. In 1947 when no longer required by the church it was sold to the Bolger family. It was subsequently acquired by Sir John Doyle, whose grandfather founded the Royal Irish Fusiliers. His daughter sold the property to the current vendors in 1988 who subsequently upgraded and improved the entire holding.

Location

Although nestled in a secluded countryside setting, Glebe House is only some 1.2 km from the bustling village of Camolin. This thriving village offers a variety of amenities, with a primary school, churches, pubs and a surprising array of shops. There are two service stations with forecourts, while the renowned and award-winning ‘Cois na hAbhann’ garden, home and lifestyle centre with ‘The Bay Tree Restaurant’ has become, for the outdoor enthusiast, one of the premier destinations in the South- East.
